Nigeria: SAP Donates Computers to Start-U.S Through Fund-Raising

Software Application (SAP), a major player in the enterprise application software sector, has donated computers to Information Technology entrepreneurs, through an organised fund-raising, which was held in Lekki, Lagos, recently.
The fund-raising was done to mark this year's physical fitness day organised by SAP, in conjunction with Fate Foundation. About 50 SAP Nigerian employees and partners participated in a Corporate Walk and Fitness programme.
As part of the company's commitment to help business 'start-ups', a fund raiser to solicit donations was held in partnership with Fate Foundation, a non-governmental organisation that promotes business and entrepreneurial development in Nigeria.
Proceeds from the fund-raising were used to purchase desktop computers, which were presented through Fate Foundation to deserving entrepreneurs.

Receiving the computers, representatives of Fate Foundation, Ajoke Omoware and Eniola Afinni, lauded SAP's initiative in helping people maintain healthy lifestyles for enhanced productivity. According to Ajoke, "encouraging start-ups directly imparts the economy positively"
The Managing Director, SAP West Africa, Mr. Richard Edet, in a short speech to kick-start the physical fitness exercise carried out in Lekki, Lagos said, "We are starting this wellness initiative and the plan is to do it regularly. The fitness programme signifies our company's duty to improve the health of our employees and the populace while ultimately enhancing productivity." The slogan, 'Walk Better, Start Better' appeals to both our physical health and execution of ideas within us".
With more than 100,000 customers of all sizes and in all industries transforming their businesses with SAP solutions, the company said its mission is to help every customer become a best-run business. "From cloud and in-memory, to mobile, analytics, and beyond, there are solutions and services for every business challenge", Edet said.
The organised fitness programme is part of the company's corporate social responsibility initiative aimed at promoting entrepreneurship by motivating people to start businesses and stay with them, while maintaining fit and healthy lifestyles.
Supervised by a Medical Doctor/Public Health Personnel, Dr. Famurewa, participants took off from Lekki 2nd roundabout and stopped at the Vantage Beach Resort, Lekki Beach side.
