Trading in equities continued on bullish note on the Nigerian Stock Exchange yesterday, as more investors took position on stocks.
Specifically, the All Share Index rose by 0.67 per cent to close at 36,236.49 points, compared to the increase of 0.12 per cent recorded the preceding day to close at 35,994.67 points.
Market capitalisation gained N8bn to close at N11.58trn, higher than the appreciation of N1bn recorded the preceding day to close at N11.50trn.
The Industry Goods index led the sectorial indices with 3.11 per cent to close at 2159.33 points, followed by the Oil and Gas index with 2.18 per cent to close at 189.68 points.
Lotus Islamic index rose by 1.65 per cent to close at 2501.09 points, while the Banking index appreciated by 1.05 per cent to close at 421.17 points.
The NSE 30- index and the Consumer Goods index gained 0.86 per cent and 0.45 per cent to close at 1729.99 points and 1044.67 points respectively.
The Insurance index shed 0.28 per cent to close at 148.53 points, while Alternative Securities Market index remained flat.
UTC Plc led the gainers’ table with 7 kobo or 9.86 per cent to close at 78 kobo per share, followed by Eterna Plc with 29 kobo or 9.76 per cent to close at N3.26 per share.
Ikeja Hotel Plc appreciated by 8 kobo or 9.76 per cent to close at 90 kobo per share, while Constain Plc gained 7 kobo or 9.72 per cent to close at 79 kobo per share.
DN Meyer Plc closed at 16 kobo per share, up by N1.82 or 9.64 per cent. On the flip side, NNFM Plc lost N2.38 or ten per cent to close at N21.42 per share, while Eko Corporation Plc shed 48 kobo or ten per cent to close at N4.32 per share.
Royal Exchange Plc declined by five kobo or 8.33 per cent to close at 55 kobo per share, while ABC Transport Plc dropped 8 kobo or 7.62 per cent to close at 97 kobo per share. Airservice Plc fell 33 kobo or 7.50 per cent to close at N4.07 per share.
A total of 371.3 million shares valued at N4.73bn were traded in 6,122 deals.
